If you see me and ask to see a trick, THIS is what I'll be performing from now on. I love it that much.
No one can figure it out, I don't care how smart they are. They merely THINK of a card.. like, with their EYES ONLY, then they shuffle the cards! And NO, you don't have to ask "is it in this pile? No? How about this one?".... That would be a terrible trick. There is absolutely no fishing!
But that's not enough to make a trick my go-to. The thing that puts "Little Vernon" over the top is that you can use literally any old deck -- even if it's incomplete. This may seem like a small thing, but I'll tell you from years of experience (of not being prepared), it means EVERYTHING to me.
Here's a wonderful bonus:
Turns out, John Carey is one of the best teachers of magic I've ever had the pleasure of watching. He has the best words. He explains the mechanics and psychology of every move so well, you really feel ready to rock after one viewing.
Check it out here, and learn this one. It's gorgeous.
