A prediction envelope is placed on the table, along with the performer's favorite novel. The spectator is handed a magazine that has had the staples removed and is asked to select any one of the double pages she likes. It's a free choice. She is then asked to add all the page numbers together. Let's say the number totals 170. She turns to page 170 in the novel ... and the prediction reveals which city is mentioned, the make of car which is talked about, and the unusual word on line 4! In fact, the prediction can go into as much detail as you want. And the great thing is you do not touch the prediction, there are no sleights or switches, this is 100% self-working and you'll be performing it in less than five minutes - and will be added to your repertoire straight away.
You can do this effect with a different outcome at different tables - such as at a wedding for example, with just a couple of minutes to set up. You don't have to make anything at all - just prepare your prediction and a very minor thing with the magazine (or newspaper) you're going to use. It's easy and we love it.
This is a killer effect with a little-known method that you could adapt to all sorts of mentalism predictions. It's an absolute beauty.
