Novis Numeris is a seemingly impossible close-up number divination you can perform entirely impromptu. In fact, all you require is a pen and a few scraps of paper, blank cards, cardboard discs, etc. Here's the basic effect: 4, 5, 6, or more paper slips are consecutively numbered, using both sides. You turn your back and instruct the spectator to mix these and turn over any ones he likes to arrive at a random total. After some brief byplay, you divine the total!
