Mated is one of Craig Petty's favourite routines, serving as a closer for his card set. In this trick, a shuffled deck is used, and the spectator makes several card selections. The magician reveals each chosen card accurately without seeing it, then the spectator matches cards perfectly with their mates, seemingly by chance. The routine concludes with the entire deck sorted into perfect pairs. Mated is a strong, direct, and highly examinable routine that resets instantly, making it practical for continuous performance. It is easy to learn and perform, making it a powerful tool for any card magician.
