This appears to be part of Mealing's Membership program Spectator shuffles deck to their heart's content, then cuts to a selection. This card is lost back into the pack, which is cut as many times as desired by spectator. Now, Mr. Magic turns deck face up and spreads it across table, asking spectator to choose 4 cards, one of which must be his/her selection. These cards are counted, ensuring there are four. Now for the magic: Mr. Magic removes (invisibly) one of the four cards from the packet and hands it to the spectator. The packet is counted and it is shown there are only 3 cards remaining. Naturally, the selection is no longer there. Mr. Magic asks spectator to put the invisible selection back into into the deck face up. When the deck is spread again, the selection is revealed, reversed in the pack.
