Three special original card routines. This project explores the theme of splitting card values and features three of my routines. The effects are as follows:
■ Kings Schism:
The spectator freely selects three cards. The magician takes out a King. Although it isn't one of the selections, the magician discovers that the values of the three selected cards add up to exactly 13. The magician then splits the King into three cards, which turn out to be the spectator's three original selections.
■ 4,3,2,1:
The magician has the spectator call stop while dealing the deck into four packets. The top card of each packet is a 4. The magician removes one packet, and the top cards of the remaining three packets become three 3s. He removes another packet, and the top cards of the remaining two packets become 2s. Finally, he removes one more packet, leaving one packet with an Ace on top. Not only that, since one packet was removed each time, the top cards of the three packets that were previously removed have also changed into the remaining three Aces.
■ Split-End Sandwich:
A highly visual card routine. The spectator selects three cards. The magician first sandwiches one selection between two Jokers. The other two selections are then produced using a highly visual change.
